In Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood, 17-year-old Trinh lives between two worlds: a devoted son to his Vietnamese refugee mother, a diligent student at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf, and, secretly, a cannabis courier working to support his struggling family.

As legalization approaches and police intensify their efforts to clean up the black market, Trinh climbs the ranks of the drug trade while gaining access to the city’s affluent circles. Through this paradoxical ascent, he discovers a form of social mobility through the unlikely economics of the drug trade, catching a glimpse of an alluring world of privilege that reflects the inequalities surrounding him.
